The Track
Situated at 1 The Avenue, Lawford, Manningtree, Essex (off Bromley Road). Lawford Buggy Club is the premier dedicated home for 1:10 off-road grass racing in the region.
We are ideally located for RC enthusiasts across North Essex and Suffolk, being just 20 minutes from Colchester, 25 minutes from Ipswich, 1 hour from Bury St Edmunds, and 1.5 hours from Norwich.
Finding Us: Head past the venture centre on Bromley road, the entrance is on the left hand side. Look for the club sign!
Power
There is no mains power on site. Please bring a 12v battery or generator.
Facilities
On-site toilet facilities are available for all members. Our main goal is simple—we hope you enjoy every visit to our track!
Ready to Race?
Membership
Membership is FREE. We welcome drivers of all skill levels, from those just starting out to national-level competitors.
Race Fees
Fees are £8 per driver, per meeting. These are collected trackside on the day of the event. Please have correct change if possible.
Pit Area
For a comfortable day, please bring a pit table and chair, and a 12v power source for charging.
Booking In
To ensure a smooth race day, bookings close 12:00 Noon Saturday via the club forum before each meeting.
The "Lap Racing" Format
At LBC, we do things differently. Unlike most clubs that run qualifying against the clock, every single heat at Lawford is a race for position.
We use Speedway-style straight line starts for every heat. You compete for points in every round, which are tallied up to determine your starting position for the Finals. It's high-stakes, wheel-to-wheel action from the very first second the start whistle blows!
